OnePlus may be considering equipping its upcoming global release, the OnePlus 13, with Google’s Find My Device Off feature. The feature would allow the device to remain locatable through Google’s Find My Device service even when it’s switched off or the battery is drained.

Though Google’s Find My Device service is generally only functional when devices are on, Powered Off Finding extends its usability by powering the Bluetooth chip to broadcast the device’s location even after the phone is turned off. This feature has already been implemented in Google’s latest Pixel models, such as the Pixel 8 and Pixel 9 series, and could debut on the OnePlus 13 thanks to its new Snapdragon 8 Elite platform.
Discoveries in OxygenOS related to the Powered Off Finding feature
This speculation surrounding the OnePlus 13 began when Mishaal Rahman from Android Authority noticed a line in the OxygenOS 15 beta changelog – “You can now locate your device even when it’s switched off, improving the likelihood of retrieving it if lost.” However, this mention was removed from the stable version. While the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 on the OnePlus 12 does not support Powered Off Finding, the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite platform on the OnePlus 13 does. Qualcomm executive has confirmed that the FastConnect 7900, which is used within this platform, supports Powered Off Finding, but it’s ultimately up to device manufacturers to enable this feature. Given that OnePlus referenced the feature in the OxygenOS 15 beta, it’s likely that OnePlus intends to integrate this capability in the global version of the OnePlus 13 that will run on OxygenOS 15. If the OnePlus 13 includes Powered Off Finding, it would bring added peace of mind to users, knowing they can track the device even if it’s turned off.>>>>>>>>>>ONEPLUS 3 A3000 A3003 – Battery BLP613 3000mAh
