We thought we’d learned all we could about the upcoming DJI Neo drone during last week’s rumor fest, but the leaks just keep coming – this time with some marketing materials revealing just how easy it should be to pilot the tiny selfie camera.
A series of marketing promos shared on X (formerly Twitter) show why the Neo may be DJI’s most approachable drone yet, thanks to in-app flight controls, meaning you don’t even need a controller. The drone itself is expected to be lighter than an iPhone at 135 grams.

The app in the promo includes most of the controls you’d need, from direction to ‘return-to-home’, and a shutter button for video or photos. There’s even a voice control function, which would be a first for DJI drones. The app doesn’t appear to let you control the movement of the drone’s camera, because the Neo likely doesn’t have a gimbal – instead, it’s expected to have a fixed camera.
That would make the Neo more like an FPV racing drone, which appears to be another of its skills from a different leaked slide showing compatibility with DJI RC Motion 3 controller. That controller, which is already compatible with the DJI Goggles 3 and DJI Avata 2, lets you control the drone with the movements of your wrist.
While you would need a ‘spotter’ companion with you when using the Goggles 3 with the Neo, it should be capable of some ‘cinewhoop’-style shots – particularly as some leaked specs show it can fly at a nippy 16m/s (or 57.6 km/h) when in sports mode.
Other DJI reviewers on X (formerly Twitter) are now speculating a possible early September announcement, but there’s no sign of an actual release date leaking yet. However, considering what’s been revealed so far, the DJI Neo is definitely coming soon.As for the camera specs, previous leaks have suggested that we’ll see a 1/2-inch sensor (the same size as the one inside the 2020 DJI Mavic Air 2) that can shoot 4K/30p or 1080/60p video.
Of course, the video bitrate is capped at 75Mbps (compared to 150Mbps for the Mini 4 Pro), but for such a compact drone, it should be able to achieve impressive results as long as it’s filmed in the right light. Huawei is reportedly on the verge of launching its second blood pressure watch, and it’s likely to be the most advanced and useful of its kind to date. According to Huawei Central, the Huawei Watch D2 will be released this September, with the most likely release date being September 24th. This comes after one of Huawei’s wearable devices passed medical certification in China in early August. At the moment, there are no specific details on what features the Huawei Watch D2 will offer over the original (the Huawei Watch D, which launched in 2022).
Some reviews noted the Watch D’s blood pressure accuracy is good rather than great, and it is a fairly bulky watch.It’s 13.6mm thick and has a fairly large front-on footprint despite having a mid-size 1.64-inch screen. Huawei has a good excuse, though. Watches like the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 use fairly standard fitness watch hardware to reap the stats required to estimate changes in blood pressure, from a baseline measured using a blood pressure cuff.
Huawei’s Watch D has a miniature version of a blood pressure cuff, with an inflating strap, using multiple air sacs. It provides standalone readings. Windows laptops have had a great year so far. Not only have we launched the Snapdragon X-chip-powered Copilot+ line of PCs to compete with the MacBook Air, but the recent AMD Ryzen 300 AI chip is impressive, and powerful laptops like the Zenbook S 16 are competing with the MacBook Pro.
Increasingly, Windows laptops are more than just MacBook replacements-they have great staying power as some of the best laptops you can buy. But there’s one MacBook that still avoids the scope of this new breed of Windows laptops. It’s not actually new – it’s the M2 MacBook Air.
This two-year-old laptop, which Apple still sells, remains an extremely attractive little device. The 13-inch model officially starts at a price of $999, and considering it only comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, that might not sound too impressive. In fact, the Surface Laptop 7th Edition starts at $999, but comes with twice the memory.
That $200 difference might not sound like a huge deal, but margins are very tight at this price point.Of course, you’re getting an older laptop with the M2 MacBook Air, but it’s identical in terms of chassis and features to the M3 model that was released earlier this year. You get better GPU performance with the M3, but so long as you’re not trying to play games, you likely won’t notice the difference too much. You can take things even further if you want and opt for the M1 MacBook Air, which now sells for $649. If you’re shopping for a MacBook, I’d recommend the M2 model though, as you get a better display, webcam, speakers, and port selection. It’s more than worth an extra $150.
The affordable price of the M2 MacBook Air makes even today’s Chromebooks harder to recommend. I’d expect Copilot+ PC prices to drop over time, and Qualcomm has hinted at cheaper Snapdragon X PCs coming next year. But for now, Apple has a small share of the laptop market, and Windows laptops are having a hard time keeping up with that share, even if they’re making some significant inroads into the $1,000+ price point.But for now, you won’t find a better sub-$1,000 laptop than the M2 MacBook Air.
The Google Pixel 9 comes with new AI features, a new design and a better ultra-wide-angle camera. But it’s also more expensive than last year’s Pixel 8.
While the AI tools Google introduced with the Pixel 8 focused primarily on photo editing, the Pixel 9’s new features aim to make the operating system feel more intuitive. (There are, of course, some new photography-related tricks, too.) Since all the new phones are powered by Google’s Tensor G4 processor, these features apply to the entire Pixel 9 lineup.
The standard Pixel 9 also includes 12GB of RAM instead of the Pixel 8’s 8GB, which should improve overall performance and help support the phone’s new AI features. One of the most prominent new features is an app called Pixel Screenshots, which lets you ask questions about screenshots stored on the phone.
That might not sound too exciting, but think about how many times you’ve probably taken a screenshot for later reference – it could be your Airbnb’s Wi-Fi password or an address from a text message. The Pixel Screenshots app lets you search for those individual pieces of information as needed, kind of like the Ask Photos feature for Google Photos that the company announced at Google I/O.
More interestingly, however, Google claims that its software can infer context based on images. For example, if you take a screenshot of a digital poster for an upcoming event, such as a concert or festival, the company claims it can distinguish between different times listed on the poster, such as the event itself and the date of ticket sales. Google’s new Pixel phones are also getting a tool for creating images based on prompts called Pixel Studio.
Just type in a description and the app will generate an image. There are also a handful of starter prompts based on themes if you’re stuck on where to begin. For example, a “retro video game” section may include prompt ideas such as “pixel art retro video game of a misty forest.” Apple is launching a similar tool called Image Playground as part of its Apple Intelligence suite of features.The weather app will now show AI-generated weather summaries, and you’ll have the option to record a phone call and view a summary of the conversation in the phone app. Building on last year’s Magic Editor, which can remove or change objects in photos, Google is introducing Reimagine.
Instead of just having the AI decide how to change a certain element of a photo, you can type in a prompt to get a desired result. For example, I highlighted the floor of an outdoor balcony in one photo and told Google to “reimagine” it as a sandy beach.But the new camera feature that I found most intriguing was Add Me, which uses augmented reality to help you take a group photo.
The process involves taking two photos: A first photo, and then a second shot in which the original photographer swaps with someone else to join in the group photo. When snapping the second photo, the second photographer will see an AR overlay guiding them to help position the new person (the first photographer) on where to stand so that the photo looks natural.
The software then combines both of those photos together to create an image where everyone is in the picture. I have to admit, I was surprised to see how well the AR functionality works when I tried this during a demo ahead of Google’s event. As I held up the phone, I saw a digital overlay of myself positioned almost exactly where I was just standing a second ago.
In most cases, it’s probably still easier and less awkward to just ask someone to take the photo for you. But I do think Add Me is more practical and more genuine in its intention than Best Take, the feature introduced last year that can make it look like everyone is smiling in a photo.
Overall, the Pixel 9’s new software features feel like a step toward making Google’s Pixel software smarter. But I don’t think these features alone will be enough to incentivize people who are happy with their current phones to upgrade. However, I do think Google’s approach, especially with the Pixel Screenshots app and Summary feature, is more practical for everyday use than some of Samsung’s Galaxy AI features.

Ahead of the event, the company released the Motorola Razr 50 India launch trailer. The trailer gives a glimpse of the design and features of the new phone. However, as the Motorola Razr 50 is already on sale in China, many of its features are already known. The trailer shows that the standard version has a larger screen than the previous generation Moto Razr 40, allowing for more operations without having to expand the outer screen.
The Motorola Razr 50 features a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED foldable panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, FHD+ resolution, 3,000 nits peak brightness, and HDR10+ support. The cover screen has a diagonal size of 3.6 inches, which is 2.1 inches larger than the Razr 40’s cover screen, so it could be brighter than its predecessor, which only supported 1,400 nits peak brightness. It also packs a 4,200mAh battery with 30W charging.
Inside the Motorola Razr 50, there is likely to be a MediaTek Dimensity 7300X chipset with Android 14 software. It will have a 32MP front camera. The rear camera will consist of a 50MP primary camera and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera. You can record 4K at 30 FPS videos with rear and front cameras. There is also a Bluetooth 5.4 version with a connection range of 10 meters.

This September, it looks like there will be three new Apple Watches: the Apple Watch Ultra 3, the Apple Watch Series 10 and the third generation model of the most affordable model, the Apple Watch SE. This year’s version is likely to be more affordable and feature a new design that’s unprecedented in Apple’s SE lineup.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his latest Power On newsletter, the new model will be the first since 2022, and Apple “will move away from an aluminum enclosure to a plastic one”. That’s a big change: for all SE models of the iPhone and Watch, Apple has been using the old existing design. This will be a completely new look.
It suggests that Apple wants to appeal to a new set of buyers. There has never been an Apple Watch clad in plastic; aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, ceramic and gold have been the go-to materials since the Watch was first launched in spring 2015.
Here’s why this is happening, according to Gurman: “I’m told that the move to plastic will lower production costs. The aluminum case for the SE costs Apple about $5 a unit. The plastic shell likely will be about half that, I’m told. That might not make a huge difference by itself, but Apple is looking for ways to get the price of the SE down.”
Although it’s by far the most affordable Watch, it costs $249 for the 40mm version and $279 for the 44mm case, plus $50 if you choose the cellular version of either. If Apple could knock the entry price down to $200, it could appeal to a lot more people and compete more easily with rival devices such as those from Samsung. Apple has marketed its Watches at children for some time, and this move could enhance that market, and be especially potent with recent school bans of cellphones.

And, as Gurman points out, the plastic may yield more striking and vibrant colors than the current midnight, starburst, and silver options, though you can already customize your watch with brightly colored bands.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro has changed dramatically from its predecessor. While the new Galaxy convertible offers incremental upgrades in terms of looks, Samsung has gone all out to change the design and feel of its flagship headphones.
The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro is a change from Samsung’s iconic design and features a new, bolder look. While some might say they look like AirPods Pro clones, I’m glad Samsung moved to a stem design. They’re easier and more intuitive to control with gestures, and for me they feel better in my ears. I’ve been using the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro for a month now, and here’s what you need to know about these headphones.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro feature a distinct look, thanks to the transparent top. If you have a habit of misplacing earbuds, this helps because you can see if they’re inside the case or not without opening it. The earbuds are positioned opposite to the AirPods Pro 2 inside the case. Both the earbuds and the case feature blue and orange accents to indicate left and right, respectively.
It’s a design choice that makes the buds’ LEDs nestled together. When you open or close the case, the buds glow, and they wouldn’t have looked as good as they do currently had Samsung gone with the AirPods-like positioning, which is more common. However, the latter is more intuitive because I can pick the earbuds out of the case and put them in my ears without fidgeting or rotating them. It feels more natural than Samsung’s buds positioning.
The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro feature a sharp-angled stem, which feels great with controls. You can pinch for playback control and noise cancellation/ambient mode, and swipe for volume adjustment. The sensors are located on the backside of the earbuds – also on the opposite side when compared to the AirPods Pro 2.
They work 10 out of 10 times and provide good feedback. It took me a few tries to train my muscle memory, but I feel well adjusted to the controls now.
