Huawei‘s Consumer Business Board Chairman, Richard Yu, has already announced that the public beta of HarmonyOS NEXT, the Hongmeng operating system, will start releasing on 8 October. The supply chain is now hinting that the Huawei Mate 70 series could be released in November this year. However, the exact release date is yet to be announced.

The news comes from a report from Yicai Global that claims that many of the components of the Mate 70 series have already been supplied to Huawei. It suggests the phone is nearing mass production, if it hasn’t already begun. The report further notes that the mass production is expected to start before the Mid-Autumn Festival in China, which typically corresponds to mid-September to early October. According to industry sources, the Mate 70 series will likely launch in November this year.As a backdrop, the Huawei Mate 60 series was launched at the end of August and released in early September last year. Previously, there was speculation that the delay in the release of this year’s flagship phone was related to the development of the HarmonyOS NEXT operating system.

While previous leaks hinted at an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, DCS claims that the series integrates the fingerprint sensor into the power button and changes the metal centre frame to a flat design. Since this design information contradicts previous rumours, it’s best to take it with a pinch of salt.
