Apple will launch its iPhone 16 lineup later this year with new AI features and larger screen sizes. The iPhone 16 series includes the Apple iPhone 16, Apple iPhone 16 Plus, Apple iPhone 16 Pro and the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max.
All four phones will offer substantial upgrades over their predecessor with more RAM and faster connectivity. Here is everything you need to know about the upgrades in the iPhone 16 lineup.
iPhone 16 Series To Get More RAM
According to a report by 9to5Mac, the Apple iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will use a new A18 chipset based on a 3nm process. Furthermore, the base models of the iPhone 16 series will have 8GB of RAM, increasing from the 6GB of RAM in the iPhone 15 models.
The new 3nm chipset will also improve the power efficiency of the phones apart from making them more powerful. Moreover, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will use a new A18 Pro processor.
Upcoming iPhones To Get New 5G Modems
In addition, the iPhone 16 Pro models will use a new Qualcomm X75 model, enabling them to offer faster 5G speeds. Similarly, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will use the Qualcomm X70 models, the same as the iPhone 15 series.
According to Qualcomm, the X75 modem is the company’s 6th generation modem, which offers support for 5G advanced with a new architecture. It is clear that the Cupertino giant plans to differentiate between the base and Pro models of the iPhone 16 by using different modems and chipsets.
Previous reports suggest the iPhone 16 series will also get a new dedicated capture button for taking video. Apple is also working on new AI features with iOS 18 with a new LLM (Language Learning Model).
